Another week has passed. At work Tim and I spent our time creating reports using Javascript. I concluded that I like Python better.
On my third weekend my girlfriend Kristina visited me. She stayed from Thursday to Monday morning. Sadly I had to work on Thursday and Friday. That meant we couldn’t do a lot during the day, but we still went sightseeing where I live and even got to the city centre.
On Saturday we went on a big tour for which I am writing an separate article.
On Sunday we first went to the St. George’s Market and then took part on a tour at the City Hall. It was very impressive! There was a lot to see.
The City Hall has a few rooms which you can rent – for free! There is only one condition: It has to be used for events which benefit the community or represent Belfast in a positive way. Charity would be a good example. When we where there funnily enough there was a “Baby Rave” for 0 – 4 year olds:
Among other places we went to the council room. One could even sit in the place of Lord Mayor! We thought it was weird that the title is “Lord Mayor” as currently the position is filled by a woman, but we where told that the title is gender neutral.
