Eine Woche ist nun vergangen seit ich in Belfast angekommen bin. Seitdem ist eine Menge passiert über was ich noch nichts geschrieben hab.
Mittwoch hatte ich meinen ersten Tag auf Arbeit. Ich war sehr gespannt wie es denn wird, da ich noch nie für ein Unternehmen gearbeitet habe, indem nur Englisch gesprochen wird. Neben mir ist noch ein Mitschüler im gleichen Unternehmen. Bis jetzt waren alle Kollegen sehr nett zu uns. Für mich ist die Arbeit besonders spannend, da ich noch nie in einem professionellen Umfeld programmiert habe. Bis jetzt habe ich nur Projekte in meiner Freizeit angefangen um mehr Erfahrungen im Programmieren zu sammeln. Ich bin gespannt was die Zukunft so bringt und hoffe, dass ich gleichzeitig mein Englisch verbessern kann.
In meiner Unterkunft ist auch alles gut. Es wäre natürlich schön, wenn alles ein bisschen sauberer wäre und ich meine Tür öffnen könnte ohne dass sie gegen meinen Schrank kracht, aber für zwei Monate sollte ich es hier aushalten können. Am besten gefällt mir die Lage des Hauses, da ich alles zu Fuß erreichen kann und deswegen noch nie die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel nutzen musste. Mit zwei meiner Mitbewohner habe ich mittlerweile noch länger unterhalten und sie sind super nett. Beide sind auch Vegetarier/Veganer, was für mich super ist, weil ich mich dann mit ihnen über Essen unterhalten kann 🙂 Eine der Sachen, die ich am meisten vermisse, ist meine saubere und gut ausgestattete Küche, aber dafür habe ich schon viele verschiedene Speisen probiert, die ich in Deutschland nicht bekommen kann. Obwohl man glauben könnte, dass ich mich nur von Hummus ernähre, da ich jetzt schon bei meiner fünften Packung bin (aber natürlich alles verschiedene Sorten). Ich bin schon ein bisschen abhängig geworden…
Es war auch richtig gut meine Mitschüler aus einer anderen Klasse näher kennen zu lernen. Normalerweise treffe ich sie nicht, da sie entweder die Woche vor oder nach uns zu Schule gehen müssen. Zusammen haben wir schon leckere Sommerrollen gemacht (mit dem größten Einsatz von Giang), bis tief in die Nacht Karten gespielt und ein großes Stück von Belfast erkundet. Deswegen habe ich die meiste Zeit außerhalb meiner Behausung verbracht und schreibe erst jetzt wieder einen Blogeintrag.
Unser bemerkenswertester Ausflug war zum Rathaus, wo ich natürlich sofort zum Oberbürgermeister erklärt wurde wie man auf den Fotos sehen kann.
Danach haben wir uns noch den Victoria Square angeschaut, ein großes Einkaufszentrum mit einem tollen Ausblick über die Stadt. Weiter unten gibt es noch mehr Bilder.
Nächste Woche geht es zu Quiz night, die von Intern Europe organisiert wird und mal schauen, was sonst noch so passiert.
